Textile industry is the driving force of the economic efficiency of Bangladesh. In this sector, the lack of skilled manpower at the primary and secondary levels is an important issue. To meet the lack of skilled manpower Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) is going to start a three-year-long “Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP)” with the collaboration of Government of Bangladesh and Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Conveniences for trainees are –
- All the incorporating courses of SEIP are full free.
- Trainees will receive certain amount of allowance during the training.
- Certificate will be given after completing the course.
- Practical classes in the export oriented industries.
- Trainee’s name will be registered at the central database preserved by BTMA.
- Priority will be given to registered persons in case of appointing manpower in the textile sector of home and abroad, also in the export oriented industries comprised by BTMA.
There are 32 courses divided in three categories which are basic, intermediate and advanced. Eager applicants can choose their desirable course from the 32 courses. At least 18 years old unemployed men and women, who have passed at least class 8, can apply for the program.
