Elixier 14 - Design for change, The Fashion Show

Fashion Designer's Competition 2014/15

Elixier is the only fashion based competition and fashion show event which has a major component relating to alcohol and tobacco prevention that takes place in Sri Lanka & this is conducted by the NGO named ADIC (Alchol & Drug Information Centre). It was initiated to build a platform upon which to showcase Sri Lankan designers’ talents in designing applied for alcohol and tobacco prevention and gain recognition both nationally and internationally. The Elixier event is recognized and well received and supported by media and the film industry as well as the intellectual community.

First workshop of Elixier’14 fashion design competition
The first workshop for the contestants of “Elixier 14” fashion design competition was conducted at ADIC under the supervision of Mrs. Rozanne Dias. Approximately there were 15 participants. Mrs. Rozanne Dias made them aware regarding the concept, guidelines and the terms and the conditions of the competition. Mr. Pubudu Sumanasekara – the Executive Director of ADIC made the contestants aware on how they should include alcohol and tobacco prevention in their designs the things that they should not include in their designs.

2. Casual wear,
3. T-shirt,
4. Avant Garde

Today (20 January, 2015) is the Finale of the Elixier 2014

This event is happening on today at Galadari Hotel in Colombo. The final fashion competitors will show their talents on the ramp with innovative designs. The designs also should include the prevention idea as this whole competition is about Alchol & Drugs Prevention theme.
