Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said that, Bangladesh's garment export sector in the world after China in the National Parlament. On Sunday, he said after asking of one of the MP named Begum Akhtar.
Commerce Minister said, 21 thousand 515.73 million US dollars earned by garments exporting in fiscal year 2012-13. And it has reached 24 thousand 491.80 million US dollars in fiscal year 2013-14
After asking of one of the MP named M A Malek, Minister said, at present, vegetables and other items of are exported from Bangladesh in Middle East.
Tofail Ahmed also added that, potatoes, tomatoes, cream and dry foods are exported in Middle East. Vegetables and other food items are being exported to all Middle East countries in the Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
“During July-February, compared to the same period last year, the export revenues represented 07 percent respectively” said Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed.
