Bangladesh is one of the greatest in the world for exporting RMG. The country is achieved foreign money by exporting RMG. It is increasing day by day. Readymade garments are exported to different countries. Unites states is one of them. This year (January- march), Bangladesh is exported 51 million square meters of RMG in the United States and earn 145Crore dollars. This is more than last year. This year, growth in January was 11.31% but it came down 8.46% the end of February. So growth is 7% less than January to March. The data was released by Office of Textiles and Apparel.
Bangladesh is on 3rd position of exporting RMG in the top 5 countries in the US market. China and Vietnam are on 1st and 2nd position. This year (January- march), China is exported their RMG and earn 609 Crore dollars in the US. That is 5.94% less in the previous year. The same year, Vietnam earns 257 crore dollar to export RMG in the US. However, their exporting is increased of 5.73% in the last year. The BGMEA vice-president Farooq Hassan Vietnam always is doing well but why can’t Bangladesh? On this question, The BGMEA Vice-President Farooq Hassan said,” we are not doing better with Vietnam, it’s true there is another fact here. Most of the investors in Vietnam are from china so at the end the big amount of profits goes to china from Vietnam. On the other hand in Bangladesh most of the investors are local so earning keeps in country.’’
On garment export Indonesia and India are staying on 4th and 5th position on US market. In between, Indonesia earns 125crore dollars by exporting RMG. Their growth is negative. India export 107crore dollars. It’s growth rate4.30 then the last year on same time. Mexico is on 6th position and exports 80 crore dollars garments. The other wise Sri Lanka and Pakistan export 53 and 30 crore dollars on last January to march. Both countries growth rate is negative.
