At last the first peaceful movement “NO VAT ON EDUCATION “ found victory . Today 14 September 2015 at 3.20 pm Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Finance Shahedur Rahman announced this statement that there is no VAT on education . And also said that the students and teachers of different private university will stop their movement and go away their platform and do not let any obstacle to the advancement of the country's development.

According to the statement the 7.5% VAT on private university was added by the permission of Prime Minister . The budget was passed in June. After almost three months of some of the students were active in the movement of VAT.
The present finance minister of the Bangladesh Awami League Government first introduced a 10% vat upon higher education in private universities in the draft of budget of 2015-16. Because of strong opposition, vat was reduced to 7.5%. Due to impose a tax on the private university students, last 22 June they form a human chain. They are The North South University, BRAC University, Bangladesh Islamic University, Southeast University, Northern University, Daffodil International University and the others.
At the start of august 2015 the government announced they would not withdraw the vat and the student must pay it. The news sparked through the students.
Then they started a movement with students from various educational institutions. On 9 September, police attacked on a protest by the student of East West University to do open fire. As a result the student became angry and the movement becomes more rigorous. Thousands of students of different private university joined and increase their movement and protest to remove the vat with the slogan of “NO VAT ON EDUCATION".
The Present Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith gives so many controversial statements against the protest. He said student spends more money every day and there is a small amount he wants to developed country.
To heard different kind of controversial statement of finance minister the students of private university sparked more and the block the roads around Dhaka Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chittagong city. They stand on the road with placards and did many peaceful rallies.
Lawyers and other prominent people of the country support this movement. This movement has also been supported by the country people.
