    RMG Export in March is 7.43 % More

    In total exporting amount from Bangladesh, Garments exporting covers 80 percent. But due to continuous political unrest from last three months, the export rate curve was in downward. But in March export amount has reached in 2.93 USD billion which is 7.43% more from before month. This news has made new hope in Bangladeshi Garments owner. The total exporting has increased about 2.98 percent in 2014-2015 fiscal year. The total export amount is 23.24 billion in 2014-2015 fiscal year according to central bank data.

    President of BGMEA has said, “Our exports could have grown more as we have a lot of work orders from international retailers. But the political unrest has been getting in our way. We were supposed to grow by 14% per month, but 7.43% growth is not adequate to achieve the target.”

    Good news for Bangladeshi Garments exporters is after the long downward trend that garments export to the US have started to go in positive movement. Because of Rana Plaza building collapse in April 2013, exporting of garments to the US dropped as retailers were waited for signs of improve in workplace and other safety issue.

    After the accord and alliance in September 2014, the retailers have been coming back with a handful of orders which is showing the new hope to the RMG exporters of Bangladesh.
